Oreck XL2000 Bagged Upright Vacuum

As advertised, this Oreck vacuum cleaner is truly a light cleaning machine since it has 8 lbs only! It is easy to handle, easy to carry and fits in the closet nicely. I especially like the full circular handle, which I think would be great for someone who has arthritis, or needs to be able to hold the vacuum handle in their most comfortable position, which can definitely vary from person to person. You simply have to try this Oreck vacuum to see what are you missing out.

It has a dull, quiet motor sound, which is not unpleasant to listen to. It is actually pink (I got the last Breast Cancer Awareness version left), which dresses up its appearance quite a bit. Excellent suction, reliable, works well. The slightly oversized front wheels make it almost effortless to push around. It has a super long cord, so I can do some serious vacuuming before having to switch outlets. It gets the crevices between the floor and walls well, with just one sweep.

I appreciate this; as I don't have to go back over the edges before I can declare the vacuuming finally complete. Also can be used for bare floors without having to make any adjustments. You can go from room to room quickly and easily.

The vacuum bags are changed from the top of the vacuum, a very simple (but ingenious) method. This makes for less mess, and makes them very easy to access. I'm not sure why all uprights don't use this simple technique, it's great. The Oreck has a Saniseal system, which helps keep dust inside of the vacuum, so you're not stuck breathing it in while you vacuum.

Another thing that is great about this Oreck vacuum cleaner being so light is that my children love to use it, and I feel comfortable letting them. It's light enough that they can handle it easily without running into furniture and damaging things, and they can move it around to get a good cleaning done. It also has a guard to protect furniture from accidental bumps.

Why I don't love it:

It has no on board attachments, which stinks. It's quite a trade-off for the durability that you get. The separate canister makes up for it, I guess. Especially considering that I got it along with the vacuum at no additional cost. The head is bulky, and does not get under furniture at all.

So what's the secret to it's cleaning power?

Simple. The Oreck has double helix shaped (remember the double helix DNA strands in Bio?) brushes that rotate fast, around 6500 RPM. That's almost twice as fast as most vacuums. Dirt doesn't stand a chance! When the salesperson demonstrated this feature for me in the store, it was very interesting when I was able to compare it to a "non-Oreck" vacuum cleaner and see the difference.

How can you find out more?

Go check out the Oreck web site, at http://www.Oreck.com. They still have the canister vac and iron promotions going, if you're interested. I highly recommend it!

Oreck Electrikbroom Bagged Upright Vacuum

When shopping for a vacuum, I wanted to buy the best unit I could find that was designed for use with hardwood floors. I chose Oreck based on the recommendation of my father-in-law, the manager of a resort that uses many of Oreck's hotel vacuums.

I was initially impressed with my ElectrikBroom. It was lightweight and easy to use. Within a few months of light use in a very small house, however, the primary handle simply broke off. The Oreck Corp. was happy to send a replacement handle, though the one they sent was for a different vacuum.

A few months later, the plastic sheathing on the cord wore through, leaving the unit without power, and the wheels that were to keep the sweeper from scratching my hardwood floors stopped spinning. Again, I contacted the company. I was told to take the unit to a sweeper shop thirty miles from my home. I made a special trip to the shop, only to learn that they do not have a service agreement with Oreck! The following day, my one year warranty expired and I am left holding a useless sweeper.

Should you choose to buy an Oreck, I would go with one designed for hotel use. But beware, the company is difficult to deal with when it comes to repairs.

Oreck XL21 Bagged Upright Vacuum

You are probably familiar with the Oreck vacuum cleaners, since they are present in hotels and motels all across the US. And another thing that separates them from other brands is their high price. To get one Oreck XL21, you will have to separate yourself from $700. It's a lot of money, but let us see what kind of benefits we get from Oreck XL21 bagged upright vacuum cleaner.

The first thing you can notice while looking at a Oreck XL21 is small size. It seems that the whole vacuum cleaner consists of a bag only and there is no place for motor. But, that is the secret of the Oreck - big power in small package. Since Oreck vacuums are originally made for hotels, the lightweight was a necessity. And this is why this carpet cleaner weights only 8lbs. That is half then most vacuums weight. And the size is just perfect to handle, you don't have anything bulky to bother you and the weight is certainly not an issue. So, we can only give high grades for the design.

The power of this Oreck XL21 upright vacuum shows in the fact that there are seven layers of filtration. The dirt goes through all of them and ends up in a self sealing vacuum bag. the bag itself is covered with cloth and paper bag, so there is no way that the dust will escape outside.

Oreck XL21

Maybe you are aware of one fact, maybe not, but most vacuums have problems with sucking power. It is too low or to high. the low won't suck the dirt out while too high will literally suck the fibers out of your carpets. And how did the Oreck handled this problem? They gave Oreck XL21 two speeds. A simple solution actually, but someone had to suggest that too, which doesn't happen in some other brands. Anyways, the low speed is good to be used with persian carpets while a high speed would be perfect for plush carpets in your home.

It's easy to use this vacuum cleaner. You don't have to carry all the accessories with you, since people from Oreck realizes its better to keep them in a bag instead of dragging them along with you. The ergonomic handle helps you with pushing and pulling the Oreck XL21. This saves you some time and cuts down the energy needed for cleaning your home.

Lets mention that the vacuum cleaner has great results with pet hair. I want to emphasize on this because this wasn't the case before. It seems that the improvement has been made and now the Oreck XL family is prepared for more challenges.

At the end, we have a great vacuum cleaner here. It's a expensive vacuum cleaner, but with Oreck XL21 you get a 21 free tune-ups. This alone tells you how much the company itself believes in the product they are making. You get a perfectly good product that will stay in your home for a long long time. You won't have to worry about finding new parts within months or figuring out how to clean your carpets. Oreck XL21 is built that way so all the problems are on his back. You only have to pay the price for it, and then you can enjoy the long ride.
